Although there was a slight chill in the air, the weather was beautiful as we took to the streets of Lexington, SC to do the Reverend Bill Green 5k fitness walk/run, the 10k run, and the one-mile fun run. The atmosphere was exciting as we raised the awareness levels of hunger both locally and worldwide, and raised approximately $27,000 that will go to our charities: Lexington’s Interfaith Community Services (LICS), Souper Bowl of Caring, World Vision, Oliver Gospel Missions, and Area Churches Together Serving (ACTS). This brings our ten year total donations to approximately $210,000.
Thanks to the 878 participants, approximately 80 police officers, over 70 volunteers, and all our wonderful sponsors, especially Blue Cross Blue Shield who accounts for approximately half the generated income as they honor the memory of Curt Owens Jr.
